"Here It Goes Once again" is a song by American rock ring OK Get, the 5th single released from their second studio anthology, Oh No (2005). It was the band's only single to nautical chart on the Usa Billboard Hot 100 until "I Won't Let You Downward" in Nov 2022 and peaked at number 36 on the Uk Singles Nautical chart, giving the band their second Uk top-twoscore hit. The music video, featuring the band dancing on treadmills, became a staple on YouTube, at one time existence one of their most watched videos with over 53 one thousand thousand views.

The single'south B-side, "The Lovecats", is a cover of the song by the Cure and was previously included on the band'southward Do What You lot Want EP and the unmarried "A One thousand thousand Ways". An alternating version was nicknamed "UK Surf".

Composition and recording [edit]

Written by Damian Kulash Jr., the three-minute "Hither Information technology Goes Again" is set in common fourth dimension at a "Moderately fast rock" tempo of 144 beats per infinitesimal. Commercial performance [edit]

On the American Billboard Hot 100 chart, issue dated September 16, 2006, "Here It Goes Over again" debuted at number 87,[3] and past the next week it rose to its height into the top 40 at 38.[iv] The track lasted a total of 20 weeks.[5] Additionally, it reached into the summit forty onto the Pop 100 at number 34,[6] as well as number 17 on the Adult Peak 40[7] and Culling Songs charts.[eight] "Here It Goes Again" was also a Acme 40 hit in other countries. On the UK Singles Nautical chart, it debuted at number 36,[9] while on the Official New Zealand Music Chart its elevation position was 28.[10] In Australia, the vocal began at number 67 on the ARIA top 100 singles chart, and rose to 63 the next week and too topped the Hitseekers chart, which surveys tracks by bands that take not reached into the top 50 of the main chart.[11]

Music video [edit]

The music video of the song is an elaborate performance of the band dancing on 8 treadmills, arranged in two rows of 4 and in alternating reverse directions, in a single continuous accept. Choreographed and co-directed by the band and lead singer Damian Kulash's sister Trish Sie, information technology took a total of seventeen attempts to consummate the video.[12] As in the ring's video for "A One thousand thousand Means", Tim Nordwind lip-syncs the lead vocals instead of Damian Kulash, following the format from the dance choreographed for the song "C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips", which Tim sings. The music video won the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Short Class Music Video and the 2006 YouTube awards for Most Creative Video.

During the summer of 2006, the band recorded a slower version of "Here It Goes Over again" "in their cranium".[15] This version, dubbed "U.k. Surf" or the "Britain Surf Mix", was released on iTunes in the Britain the aforementioned twenty-four hour period as the unmarried. According to MTV Games'southward Paul McGooyer, the video game Rock Ring helped to spur further involvement in the band.[24] The E3 2022 trailer for Lego Dimensions features the song.[25] Parodies of the video have appeared on The Simpsons, The Fairly OddParents, Foster'due south Home for Imaginary Friends, and Kuu Kuu Harajuku (created by Gwen Stefani).[26]
